OPP investigating two break and enters at same location

West Nipissing OPP is asking for the public’s help in a break and enter case.

Officers received a call on December 6 of a break-in at a business on Highway 64 North between Sturgeon Falls and Field. Police found out that a non-urgent alarm was received at 5:00 am and when workers arrived at the site, they found the warehouse had been broken into and over $5,000 of copper wire had been taken. Damages to the site are estimated at close to $15,000.

Four days later officers received another call to the site of another break and enter which happened sometime between 5:00 pm December 9 and 10:00 am December 10. This time, close to $6,000 worth of copper wire was taken, and the same amount of damage was estimated to the building.

The missing copper wire is described as one inch in diameter with black insulated sheathing, rating 1000V, rw90 x-link, minus 40F, 1000V thermalene, 750 OHM. It appears wires were cut in lengths of up to 25 feet.

The investigation is continuing with the assistance of the OPP Forensic Identification Service.  Anyone with information regarding this break, enter and thefts, is urged to contact the Ontario Provincial Police at 1-888-310-1122 or their nearest police authority.
