At 05:44am this morning , The Nipissing Parry Sound Student Transportation Services cancelled the school buses for the West Nipissing area.
This includes the areas of Jocko Point, Sturgeon Falls, Verner, Field. River Valley. and Lavigne.
The NPSSTS the icy road conditions , frozen safety equipment, and freezing rain in the forecast as their reasons for the cancellation.
At this time, all schools remain open for students who can get there safely. Parents are reminded that cancelled bus routes will not run in the afternoon; any students brought to school by other means must be picked up at the end of the school day.
