Public meetings are on the way between the Near North District School Board (NNDSB), special advisors to the Minister of Education and parents.
NNDSB says it is committed to enhancing its services to students, parents, and stakeholders within its jurisdiction, and has requested special support from the Ministry of Education. The Ministry agreed and sent along two special advisors to help the NNDSB.
The mandate for the advisors is to provide the Minister of Education with advice and recommendations about how the Near North District School Board can improve its governance, human resources practices and financial accountability role to support and improve public confidence in the board and in Ontario’s education system.
In mid-October, the board sent out a parent/community survey and the results have since come in. The board and advisors would like to share them at these upcoming public meetings and ask for the public’s help in respect to potential solutions/recommendations for consideration.
North Bay will have their meeting on Wednesday, November 27 at the NNDSB’s headquarters located at 963 Airport Road from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Parry Sound will see their meeting held the following day (November 28) at Parry Sound High School from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
