North Bay council formally opposing wind farm

North Bay council is sending a letter to the Ministry of Environment opposing a wind farm near the Jack Garland Airport.  Mayor Al MacDonald’s objections will also be copied to several other provincial ministers and Transport Canada and both riding representatives.  Councillor Mark King says Nav Canada claims the proximity of the wind turbines to the airport could affect radar.  The wind farm would be eight kilometers northeast of the airport.
