Fewer job postings go up in Nipissing during September

September saw a significant drop in the number of jobs employers posted in Nipissing District compared to August.

The Labour Market Group says 356 job postings went up which is 41 less than the previous month.

The drop works out to just more than a 10 percent decrease.

Plan A Healthcare Staffing Solutions accounted for the majority of the postings.

The company was looking to fill 27 vacancies in September.

Zedd Customer Solutions took up the second spot by posting 12 available jobs.

The next three employers were stacked close together with Asimco Textiles putting up the help wanted sign for seven jobs while both Tim Hortons and the YMCA of Northeastern Ontario were looking for six people each.

When it comes to the type of work that was available in Nipissing during September, the health field dominated the field.

Among the job postings, 15 were for a registered nurse, another 11 were for registered practical nurse jobs and employers were also on the hunt for 11 personal support workers.

In addition to topping the list for most jobs available, registered nurses applying for positions at Plan A Healthcare Staffing Solutions would be paid $50 an hour.

Just pennies behind at the Mattawa Hospital was the position of nurse practitioner which paid $49.94 an hour.

The Near North District School Board was third on the list of salaries paid for work in September.

In this case, the school board needed an attendance counsellor for which it would pay the individual $37.49 an hour.

The District of Nipissing Social Services Administration Board accounted for the highest-paid annual salary.

The agency was still looking for a Chief Administration Officer during September following the departure of Joe Bradbury who took over as CEO of the equivalent board for Parry Sound District.

The CEO title in Nipissing carries an annual wage of $149,148.

The next highest annual salary topping the Labour Market Group’s monthly report was $64,844 for an Employment and Training Consultant at the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities.

The Near North District School Board was also looking for a Behavioural Analyst in September for which it was willing to pay the prospective employee $63,314.
