The numbers from the areas OPP Fall Seatbelt Campaign are in.
The seatbelt campaign took place from October 2 to October 11. A total of 20 seatbelt charges were made during the initiative.
“Operation Impact” took place from October 11th to the 14th. Operation Impact is an annual traffic safety initiative that targets four main behaviours that cost the significant loss of life on the roads every year according to the police. The four behaviours that place drivers, passengers and other road users most at risk are impaired driving, distracted driving, speeding / aggressive driving, as well as failure to wear seat belts.
A total of 49 charges were issued in the area during this traffic initiative.

- Three moving violations
- One Seatbelt violation
Officers would like to remind everyone that a properly worn seat belt greatly increases your chances of surviving a motor vehicle collision.
