The Nipissing Employment Services Table (NEST) is hosting a job fair today.
Running from 9:00am until 2:00pm at the centre court at Northgate Shopping Centre, it is also the first time the event is being held at the mall. The move is being tried to make it easier for people to attend either by bus, or with lots of parking for those driving to the event. As well, it’s easy access for retailers looking for some extra help with the upcoming Christmas shopping season.
The event is also being organized by Yes Employment Services and the District of Nipissing Social Services Administration Board (DNSSAB).
“There are job openings in the District, and this type of event makes it easier for both the job seeker and employer to connect,” says DNSSAB Acting CAO, Melanie Shaye. “This is a tremendous effort by employment partners in the District, and past years have shown it’s very successful at meeting labour market needs.”
Anyone looking for work is advised to bring an updated résumé and be ready for a possible interview.
