A North Bay woman says she has no choice but to waste hundreds of thousands of gallons of water so that her pipes don’t freeze. Ann St. Onge says that’s the directive from city employees. A water problem at her home has been traced to the city side but crews can’t dig up the street until the spring thaw. In the meantime they’ve installed a temporary water line to her home and she has to run the water continuously so the pipes don’t freeze. City council is now looking into the matter after hearing about it for the first time at Tuesday’s meeting.
