Labour Day weekend proved to be busy for the West Nipissing detachment of the OPP.
The long weekend traffic initiative focused on distracted driving and saw officers issue a total of 106 charges.
Here is a complete breakdown of the charges:
- 93 Speeding
- 1 Distracted Driving
- 3 Hazardous Moving Violations
- 7 Other Highway Traffic Act offences
- 2 Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act offences
The OPP North East Region issued a total of 747 charges, including 11 for distracted driving, plus eight warn range suspensions.
