Culture Days planning biggest event yet

Culture Days is ramping up for its 10th annual festival and is planning to do it in style.

The three-day event, which runs from September 27-29 in North Bay, looks to be jammed packed with fun activities and events that the whole family can enjoy.

“There is so much happening” co-chair of the event, said Susan Terry when asked about the activities.

“There is an international food festival that will be happening during the Art Jam (September 28), there is a Gallery Hop on the Friday night, a masque parade Saturday, which will feature students and seniors who created their own masques, and they will walk up Memorial Drive to the bandshell where the opening ceremonies will be.”

Some events like the food festival will have a small price. For instance, you can sample 10 different food items for $10, but Culture Days itself is free to attend.

“It is a free event, but there are expenses involved for everyone,” Terry stated.

“We’re hoping to get sponsors to help us out with all of these.”

Naturally, with an event shaping up to be as big as this one, the call has been put out for volunteers as well.

“We really need volunteers to come out and help us get this off the ground and make it work. We know that we have a community of great spirited people and we want to show how we respect each and everyone.” Terry added.
