Jay Aspin announced that the federal gas tax fund has transferred $24.5 million to the nipissing region since 2005. The Nipissing-Timiskaming MP made the announcement on Friday, where he highlighted how the funding  has played a key role in supporting local infrastructure. The gas tax fund was introduced nine years ago to facilitate direct transfers of funding from the federal government to municipalities.
