Foul play not suspected in drowning

There will be no investigation into a drowning in the Restoule River at the Dokis First Nation.

Nipissing West OPP have determined the long weekend incident did not involve foul play.

The victim is a 27-year-old man from Toronto.

Brendan Loonskin was swimming in the river and then around 12:30am Saturday, Nipissing West OPP got the call about a possible drowning.

OPP recovered Loonskin’s body with help from the Sudbury Emergency Medical Services.

Loonskin was pronounced dead at the scene.
