Three new programs approved for Canadore College

Canadore College has the go-ahead to offer three new programs.

One of the programs approved by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and University is a two-year diploma in Recording Engineering.

The courses are geared to train students as producers and sound engineers.

Some features will see students produce multi-track recordings.

Canadore says graduating students in this program can enter the workforce directly.

The school says graduates also have the option of going into Canadore’s post-production program or at the Limerick Institute of Technology which is a four-year bachelor’s of science in music technology and production.

The second program is a certificate in Media Fundamentals, a program that focuses on Indigenous culture and history by looking at different disciplines and careers in media, design and artistic industries.

This is a one-year program that gives students the skills to work as independent artists or get work in traditional, digital or on-screen media.

The program also opens the doors for these students to enter several of Canadore’s other programs.

They are Acting for Stage and Screen, Digital Cinematography, Graphic Design and TV Broadcasting.

The third program is Product Engineering.

This is a diploma program that gives students the skills needed to operate in a modern manufacturing facility.

The student is given theoretical and hands-on experience in advanced manufacturing technologies, techniques and processes.

All three programs become available during September 2020.
