Defibrillators to be dispersed after International Plowing Match and Rural Expo

Once the International Plowing Match and Rural Expo is over in Verner, the Municipality of West Nipissing is expected to disperse surplus defibrillators.

The defibrillators are surplus equipment when the West Nipissing Police Service disbanded in June.

The police had six units in all.

Several municipal groups heard about the surplus defibrillators and want to acquire them for their use.

The municipality is not opposed to letting the life-saving devices go.

However, it needs four of the units for September’s IPM so it’s holding off on any decision until after the plowing match is over.

The municipality has no need for the defibrillators because it already has the units in key municipally-owned buildings.
