MTO resurfacing 17 kilometres of Highway 11 North

Highway 11 North is seeing two major resurfacing projects along different sections.

The first piece of work on Highway 11 North begins at Algonquin Avenue and continue north for 6.9 kilometres.

Then at the 13.5 kilometre mark of the highway another 10.2 kilometres will be resurfaced.

The Ministry of Transportation says the 6.9 kilometre distance will be finished this fall while the roadwork further north will be completed by November 2020.

The paving of the highway portion from Algonquin, which includes storm sewer work, will be done at night to minimize traffic disruptions.

The work in this area also includes culvert, curb and gutter replacement.

The MTO also says that the existing lights will be replaced by LEDs.

The last part of this project involves replacing the Chippewa Creek culvert on Highway 11 North which is 4.1 kilometres north of the Highway 11/17/Algonquin Avenue intersection.
