Council to study extending water line from Cache Bay to Verner

West Nipissing council is moving forward with a study to determine the feasibility of extending a water line from Cache Bay to Verner.

Councillor Dan Roveda says the cost is about $35,000 and the funds would come from the existing water and sewer budget.

Roveda says the existing water plant has the capacity to add Verner to its operation.

He says the study is needed to confirm that belief and consultants would do that by carrying out the fieldwork.

Councillor Yvon Duhaime says water has been an ongoing issue for Verner residents for many years.

He says the colour of the water has also been an issue.

Duhaime hopes that if it’s feasible to extend the water line to Verner, then the federal and provincial governments can help with the extension with money.
