A North Bay man and woman are charged with extortion and forcible confinement.
North Bay police say the charges are in connection with a woman being held against her will in a McIntyre Street East home.
Police say the victim knew the 59-year-old man and 45-year-old woman she went to visit on July 1st.
During the visit there was a dispute and police say at that point the woman was held against her will.
However, at one point the woman was allowed to use the phone which resulted in the North Bay police being alerted to the situation.
Police went to the home in question and removed the woman who they say wasn’t hurt.
At the same time, the occupants were arrested and subsequently charged.
