Canada Day is behind us but residents in the riding of Nickel Belt including those in West Nipissing, got to enjoy holiday festivities thanks to their MP.
Marc Serre distributed $21,876 to eight municipalities and organizations in Nickel Belt to help with their July 1st long weekend events.
West Nipissing was among three municipalities to get $2,000 apiece for its activities.
Markstay-Warren and St. Charles were the other two recipients to also be awarded $2,000.
The largest dollar amounts went to French River and Killarney which each received $4,000.
The money came from the Celebrate Canada program which this year helped fund almost 1,500 projects and activities across Canada.
