Temiskaming OPP warn about wildlife crossing roadways in their area

If you’re driving along Highway 11 North as darkness approaches or it’s becoming daybreak, watch out for wildlife crossing the roadway.

The Temiskaming OPP says so far this month there have been 11 collisions involving moose and one where a vehicle collided with a bear.

Seven of the collisions involving moose took place between 10:00pm and 11:00pm.

Another three took place between 4:00am and 5:00am where again vehicles ran into moose.

The remaining two crashes where vehicles hit a moose and a bear took place around 12:30am.

OPP says six of the collisions involving moose were on Highway 11 in Temagami while another took place on Highway 64 also in Temagami.

The remainder of the collisions took place in Temagami Shores, Elk Lake, Coleman Township and Barber Township.
