Arrest made in West Nipisisng in connection with residential break-in

Nipissing West OPP have charged a man with theft under $5,000 from a motor vehicle.

Police arrested the 22-year-old who is a resident of the Municipality of French River, after getting a call about someone trying to get into vehicles.

The man was arrested and police found stolen items on him.

The arrest comes as police release information that items were stolen from four separate vehicles in West Nipissing, but they don’t say if the thefts are connected to the arrest they just made.

Police say among the items stolen from the four vehicles were a laptop, cell phone and money.

Beyond the items that were recently stolen, police say thieves typically look for electronics when breaking into a vehicle.

They’re also on the lookout for tools, watch or jewelry, any type of bags and even sun glasses.
