Council supports review of proposed OPP costing model

Algonquin Highlands is getting support from West Nipissing council to have an OPP costing formula reviewed.  Algonquin believes the new formula hurts small communities with populations under 10,000.  The new model charges $260 per household where OPP patrol a community plus an unspecified amount for each call.  Algonquin Highlands says this means very high increases for many small communities.  It wants the proposed formula, which takes effect in 2015, replaced and West Nipissing supports the move.
