It’s now a waiting game for West Nipissing to see if it will get money for the John Street Bridge project and also for work at John and Coursol Road.
Part of the work includes remedial work on the bridge.
The municipality is waiting for federal and provincial approvals for the projects.
If the work is rubber-stamped, the federal government will cover half of the $5 million projects.
The provincial government will cover a third of the total cost leaving the municipality to pay for the final 17 percent.
The province is examining the application now and the feds will go over it sometime this fall.
The funding would be provided under the Northern and Rural Invest in Canada Program, a multi-billion dollar, multi-year program to upgrade infrastructure in municipalities.
