Post mortem to determine identity of skull found in Sudbury underway

Work begins Wednesday to determine how a person whose skull was found north of Sudbury died.

The skull was found by two people north of Valley East early Saturday evening.

Once they called police and investigators cordoned off the area, the search was on for more bones.

Police say more human bones were found following an extensive ground search.

Those bones along with the skull were given to the Coroner’s Office and the Centre of Forensic Science to determine the gender of the person and how the individual died.

After police wrapped up their investigation of the site they opened it back to the public on Monday.
