Father and son charged in death of young Haileybury man

Temiskaming OPP has charged a father and son from Cobalt in connection with the death of a 21-year-old Haileybury man.

The accused are 50-year-old Donald Allan Ash and 28-year-old Donald Kenneth Ash.

They are both charged with manslaughter, indignity to a dead body, causing death by criminal negligence and trafficking in an opioid.

Nicholas Rivard was last seen in Cobalt on March 24^th.

Rivard’s remains were found about three weeks later on April 15^th in Cobalt’s southeast end.

When the remains were found, police said they could not rule out foul play at the time as a factor in Rivard’s death.
