The Fraser Institute is out with its high school rankings and the results are not good for two of the schools in Sturgeon Falls.
The right-wing think tank examined 738 high schools in Ontario and both Northern Secondary and Ecolé secondaire Northern Public were ranked 689th.
A better showing came from Franco Cite which finished 443rd.
The Fraser Institute ranks high schools each year to give parents an idea of how the school their children attend fare against other high schools.
Fraser used nine academic indicators derived from the province-wide reading, math and writing tests.
The Institute says contrary to common misconceptions, the findings suggest that every school in Ontario is capable of improving regardless of where it’s located, the type of school it is and the students it teaches.
