More information released on child hospital death

The young child who died at the North Bay Regional Health Centre had the “A” strain of the H1N1 flu.  The Nipissing Parry Sound District Health Unit has confirmed the flu with lab tests.  The youngster, who was under five, had a flu-like respiratory illness while in hospital.  However medical authorities are continuing to investigate the cause of death and are waiting for autopsy results.  Because of privacy issues, medical authorities can’t say if the victim was a boy or girl or reveal the exact age.
