North Bay residents up for film and music awards

Six residents of North Bay have been nominated in several categories of the upcoming Northern Ontario Music+Film Awards.

Aaron Martini and Eric Robillard are nominated in the Outstanding Short/Mid-Length Film category.

Robillard was named for his film Post-Script and Martini for his film Future Sick.

Both men are also nominated as Outstanding Director.

However, Martini is named twice, first for Future Sick and then for a second film he directed, Daze of Dreams.

Nominated in the Outstanding Screenwriter section is Erin Pitkethly for As The Crow Flies.

On the music side, Matt Thibeault is up for the Outstanding Album award for his work on I Own a Bittersweet Flashlight.

Shawn Sasyniuk is nominated for Outstanding Engineer on Thibeault’s album while the nomination for Outstanding Songwriter names Rose-Erin Stokes for her song Wanderer.

In addition, the TV series Cardinal is up for an Outstanding Television or VOD Series award.

The series has been shot in both North Bay and Sudbury.

The music and film awards take place in Sudbury May 25th.
