Snow, ice pellets, freezing rain possible

Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement, in effect for West Nipissing, North Bay, Powassan, Mattawa and French River.

The national meteorological service reports snow and ice pellets beginning tomorrow afternoon and changing to freezing rain in the evening.

Precipitation will move into Northeastern Ontario beginning Thursday afternoon. The precipitation is likely to begin as snow before changing to ice pellets and then to freezing rain late Thursday evening.

Snow and ice pellet amounts of a trace to 2 centimetres are likely. The freezing rain, however, may last for several hours before changing to rain early Friday morning.

Freezing rain warnings may be required.
