Residents of West Nipissing heading toward Sudbury should consider slowing down as they approach the construction zone in Coniston on Highway 17 near the Water Treatment Plant.
The OPP are increasing speed trap patrols at the site after learning motorists are ignoring the maximum speed limit of 70 kilometres an hour.
Police say driving at the maximum speed limit or even below the posted limit through the construction zone will help keep the workers safe.
They’re also reminding motorists that if they catch anyone for speeding while workers are on site, their fine will be double the amount.
