Many high school students will walkout Thursday to protest education cuts

High schools will be sporting empty hallways and classrooms Thursday afternoon.

Students are planning a province-wide walkout to protest changes to education.

Among the changes are class sizes, OSAP changes and cuts to specialized programs.

The walkouts are expected to see students protest on school property.

The event is dubbed the Students Say No movement.

The movement was founded by Natalie Moore, a Grade 12 student from Listowel.

The movement is to raise awareness about education changes the Ford government wants to implement.

The walkouts are scheduled to begin at 1:15pm.
