North Bay OPP is turning to the public to help them with a hit and run Monday evening on Highway 17.
Police have arrested a 17-year-old girl from West Nipissing who is charged with failing to stop at an accident resulting in bodily harm.
The teen was charged after a 33-year-old woman from Nipissing First Nation was allegedly struck by a vehicle between Gormanville Road and Highway 17B.
The victim was seriously injured, however, investigators say they are not life-threatening.
The woman was hospitalized for treatment.
Police located the vehicle involved in the collision a short time later and arrested the teen.
OPP want anyone driving on Highway 17 between Gormanville Road and Highway 17B between 8:30pm and 8:50pm Monday to call them at 1-888-310-1122.
The collision took place around 8:30pm resulting in the highway being closed until about 1:30am Tuesday so police could carry out their investigation.
