North Bay boys curling team wins Northern Ontario crown

A boys North Bay curling team will represent Northern Ontario at the 2019 Canadian Under 18 Boys and Girls Championships.

The team, skipped by Malcolm O’Bright, qualified for the national championship by winning the Northern Ontario title in Fort Frances.

The O’Bright team went through round-robin virtually undefeated losing only one game before going on to the final and winning.

The other team members are Andrew Hong who plays third, the second is Dylan Burns while Sean Breadmore plays lead.

The team’s alternate member is Kyle Vainio.

The team plays out of the North Bay Granite Club.

Meanwhile, representing the girls at the national championships is Team Croisier from Sudbury.

The national championships take place in Sherwood Park, Alberta from April 2nd to 7th.
