Sticky fingers in Sturgeon Falls

West Nipissing Police have been kept busy lately with a series of shoplifting calls.

Last Tuesday, police were called to the Giant Tiger store in Sturgeon Falls.

The female suspect had attempted to steal makeup but was spotted by store staff.

The items were recovered from the 43-year-old Sturgeon Falls woman and she is charged with theft under $5000.

The same day, officers attended No Frills for another shoplifting call.

The staff noticed a female suspect hiding items inside her purse and clothing.

Police confronted the 20-year-old Sturgeon Falls woman and makeup and other items were recovered.

She has been charged with theft under $5000 and possession of stolen property.

The next day, police arrested and charged a 20-year-old Sturgeon Falls man after leaving the Sturgeon Falls LCBO with a bottle of vodka without paying.

Police say they identified the suspect from the surveillance footage.

He was charged with theft under $5000 and held for bail.
