Run 4 Health raising funds for CT scanner

The West Nipissing General Hospital is preparing for its seventh annual Run 4 Health.

Cynthia Desormiers, the President and CEO of WNGH, says money raised from the event goes to the hospital foundation which is raising money for a CT scanner.

Desormiers says the run is broken into two components.

One is a 5 km course and the other is 10 km.

She says participants can either walk or run.

Desormiers says Run 4 Health has grown each year and one area of growth is the participation of younger school students.

The run takes place May 4th and the course begins from the hospital, goes around Evansville and makes its way back to the hospital.

Desormiers says before the joggers and walkers begin their journey they go through a warm-up.

“You get a little physiotherapy massage and when you come back there are nutritious snacks to refuel with,” Desormiers said.

Desormier says there are different ways to register including going online to [email protected] or calling 753-3110 x.316.
