There is still plenty of snow across West Nipissing but that hasn’t stopped three small businesses in Sturgeon Falls from once again opening their chip stands.
All three, Monique’s Chip Stand, the Riv and Larry’s are again open for the season while most other chip stands in many communities remain closed and will still that way at least for a couple of more months.
However, the Sturgeon Falls chip stands have been opening during the first week of March for years and this year is no exception despite the large snowbanks that populate the community.
And the annual ritual is being welcomed by residents of the community.
Many posted on Facebook to say they are happy to see the chip stands open once again, a clear signal that spring isn’t far off and soon the snow will start to melt.
