Figures released by Near North Crimestoppers show illegal drug activity leads the way in tips coming into the agency. Area police forces seized $1.5 million in drugs last year in the Near North region and they arrested 49 people. Since the local program’s inception in 1988, nearly $51-million in drugs have been recovered.
