Special weather statement in effect for:

  • North Bay – Powassan – Mattawa

Environment Canada reports 10 to 15 centimetres of snow and ice pellets are likely overnight tonight through Sunday and freezing rain is possible.

Snow associated with an approaching Colorado low will develop after midnight tonight and persist until late Sunday. Snow is likely to become mixed with ice pellets at times tonight and Sunday morning. Total snow and ice pellet accumulations of 10 to 15 cm are possible. Areas that receive mostly snow will be at the higher end of this range while areas that receive mostly ice pellets could see much less.

There is also a risk of freezing rain in some areas late tonight or early Sunday morning.

Motorists should be prepared for hazardous winter driving conditions. Snowfall warnings or freezing rain warnings may be issued for some areas as the event draws nearer.

Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to [email protected] or tweet reports using #ONStorm.
