NDP ridings to pick up case work once Thibeault steps down

Glenn Thibeault’s decision to defect to the provincial Liberals from the federal NDP will trigger a series of events very soon.  Thibeault jumped ship so he can run in an upcoming Sudbury provincial by-election.  Once the election is called, Thibeault has to quit as an Independent MP meaning his office workers are laid off and most case work won’t get done.  However Carol Hughes, the New Democrat for Algoma Manitoulin Kapuskasing says all is not lost.  Hughes says once Thibeault quits, the House of Commons will take over his office and staff it with one worker.  She says that won’t be enough and it’s why nearby NDP ridings have agreed to help so case work doesn’t fall through the cracks.
