Electronic disclosure may come to Ontario courts

Ontario’s court system may be seeing electronic disclosure in the near future.   North Bay’s chief of police, Paul Cook, says a pilot program is now underway in Southern Ontario.   Under it things like witness statements, photos and videos collected by police will be shared with the crown’s office electronically.   Up until now, everything is sent as a hard copy.   Since Cook is the president of the Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police, he’s responsible for ensuring that the program remains secure.
