The search is on for a man who stole cigarettes from a shop in West Nipissing.

The man went into the store wearing a mask Sunday evening around 8:30pm.

West Nipissing Police was told the man asked for cigarettes and when he was asked for identification the man forced his way behind the counter and made his way to the cigarette case.

The man, who is 6’1” to 6’3” in height, grabbed how many tobacco packages he could and left.

Police say the man is on the thin side.

He was wearing a blue jacket, dark pants, a winter hat with ear flaps and dark boots at the time of the robbery.

The store’s surveillance captured a video image of the man which police have made public.

The man stole an undisclosed amount of cigarettes.
