Man and woman in French River face drug and weapons charges

Property stolen during break-ins in West Nipissing and St. Charles has been recovered after the OPP busted a man and woman in French River in a drug raid.

The raid yielded a quantity of methamphetamine, hydromorphone , codeine and numerous prohibited devices.

The OPP’s Community Street Crime Unit, the Sudbury-Noelville OPP and the Sudbury Crime Unit were involved in the raid.

Police have charged a 51-year-old man and 39-year-old woman, both from French River, with unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm as well as breaching firearms regulation regarding the storage of a firearm or restricted weapon.

The woman is also looking at possession charges involving methamphetamine, hydromorphone and codeine.

The man is also looking at a possession charge involving meth as well as trafficking in property obtained by crime and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.

The man also faces an offence of unauthorized possession of a weapon.
