News More snow: In July, we’ll all have a big chuckle about this SHARE ON: Stu Campaigne, staff Wednesday, Feb. 13th, 2019 On the heels of a blustery major winter storm, Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement, in effect for North Bay, Powassan, Mattawa, West Nipissing and French River. The national meteorological service is reporting 10 to 20 centimetres of snow is possible Thursday afternoon into Friday. Snow will begin Thursday afternoon and intensify Thursday evening. Total snowfall amounts of 10 to 20 cm are possible before the snow tapers off during the day, Friday. Locally, higher amounts near Georgian Bay are expected. Travel may be affected. This snow is associated with an Alberta Clipper tracking across Whitefish Bay Thursday night. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada.
