The minister of FedNor says federal New Democrats like those in Northern Ontario are scrambling after recent comments by their leader over the gun registry. Greg Rickford says NDP leader Thomas Mulcair said point blank he would bring it back. That prompted the NDP member for Timmins – James Bay, Charlie Angus, to say the party would do no such thing. But Rickford says Mulcair’s position is very clear and unmistakable as several media sources prove. Many northerners oppose the registry and Rickford understands why Angus would say the NDP won’t re-introduce it despite his leader’s position.
