Right now it’s just a special weather statement for now but it’s worth keeping an eye on.
Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement in effect for West Nipissing, North Bay, Powassan, Mattawa and French River.
The national meteorological service says a period of ice pellets and freezing rain is expected to begin around midday Thursday and continue through the evening hours. Ice pellet and freezing rain amounts will vary widely.
Hazardous winter travelling conditions are expected Thursday through Friday morning. Motorists should exercise caution and expect longer travel times.
