HOW ABOUT A SNOW SQUALL WATCH FOR GOOD MEASURE?

Environment Canada has now issued a snow squall watch for West Nipissing, North Bay, Powassan, Mattawa and French River.

The national meteorological service reports snow squalls are possible later today as a result of strong southwest winds which will usher in colder air through Wednesday.

Accumulations tonight may exceed 15 cm in some spots. However, the snow squalls should shift from time to time which should help limit the accumulations. Areas of very poor visibility in blowing snow are likely as well.

These snow squalls may slowly shift southward on Wednesday.

Travel may be hazardous due to sudden changes in the weather. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow.

Snow squall watches are issued when conditions are favourable for the formation of bands of snow that could produce intense accumulating snow or near zero visibilities.
