LATE TUESDAY SNOW ADDED TO SNOWFALL WARNING

Snowfall warnings are issued when significant snowfall is expected.

Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning, in effect for West Nipissing, North Bay, Powassan, Mattawa and French River.

The national meteorological service reports snowfall with total amounts of 15 cm is expected with significant snowfall later today into tomorrow morning.

This snow is associated with an Alberta Clipper that will cross the area.

Lake effect snow squalls are expected to develop late Tuesday after the passage of the Clipper. Additional snowfall amounts of 10 to 15 cm are expected locally in areas affected by these squalls.

Travel may become hazardous due to reduced visibilities in heavy snow and blowing snow.

Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow.

Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to [email protected] or tweet reports using #ONStorm.
