Teddy bears need a home; Police Chief is on the case

The generosity of the Frankish family in North Bay will benefit a lot of children facing distress.

Former Breakfast Television host for City TV, Kevin Frankish, is sending his mother Vivianne’s teddy bear collection to North Bay Police Chief Shawn Devine.

The former North Bay resident has known Devine since primary school and talked about donating the teddy bears in a tweet.

Devine says he will have no problem finding homes for the massive collection which he believes numbers at least 50 and could be as high as 100.

Devine says police keep a number of teddy bears on hand on a regular basis and give them to children in distress during the course of an investigation.

Devine personally is involved with quite a few agencies in North Bay and he knows three of them will be able to accept the Frankish collection.

“I sit on the Amelia Rising Sexual Assault Board, Transition House and the Ojibway Women’s Centre and those are my suggestions on how to use the teddy bears from Kevin’s mom,” said the police chief.

“So no, it won’t be hard to find a good home for our furry friends.”
