North Bay police charge man in domestic assault case

A North Bay man is looking at five counts each of domestic assault and assault with a weapon after a domestic assault investigation in the city.

Police were told on Monday that a woman was concerned for her safety after a relationship ended.

While investigating the case, police learned that the woman was the victim of assaultive-type behaviour over a six month period.

On Wednesday police arrested a 24-year-old man.

In addition to the assault-related offences, the man is charged with uttering threats and two counts of mischief.

Police are not releasing his name in order to protect the woman’s identity.

The case has police repeating information for victims of domestic violence to call 911.
