November saw a huge spike in employers looking for workers in Nipissing District in the sales and service sector.
The industry had 39.8 percent of jobs available that were posted making it number one among top occupations in the district for the month.
Leading the pack were retail employers looking to fill 64 positions including some clerk and associate jobs.
Another 15 jobs each were available at call centres and custodian/housekeeper areas.
The next occupational sector with the most job postings was the trades, transportation and equipment operators’ field with 18.2 percent of the jobs.
Topping the list in this category was a need to fill 33 bus and truck driver positions.
The sector also needed machinists, apprentices and automotive service technicians.
The third top occupation was white-collar work in the business, finance and administration area.
This sector had 11.8 percent of the available jobs that were posted with the biggest demand coming from the need to fill 11 administrative and receptionist positions.
