West Nipissing elementary schools don’t fare well in rankings compiled by Fraser Institute

The right-wing think tank Fraser Institute is again out with its ranking of Ontario elementary schools and St. Luke of North Bay had the highest placing among schools in the region across all four boards.

The Nipissing-Parry Sound Catholic District School Board was ranked 446th out of 3,046 schools.

The Near North District School Board’s South River Public School had the second highest area ranking finishing in 865th spot.

The English Catholic board re-enters the picture with St. Hubert which is the third highest of the area schools and finishes in 1,096th place.

Occupying fourth spot among area schools and in 1,322nd place overall is the Near North’s Vincent Massey of North Bay.

After this, all the remaining elementary schools fall below the 50 percent mark in terms of placing.

Among schools in West Nipissing, Ste-Marguerite D’Youville in Verner placed highest in the municipality in 2,449th spot followed by La Résurrection in 2,680th spot.

Both schools are part of the Conseil scolaire de district catholique Franco-Nord board.

Next was Conseil scolaire public du Nord-Est de l’Ontario’s Jeunesse Active of Sturgeon Falls which places 2,886th

The lowest ranking among schools in Sturgeon Falls was the Near North board’s White Woods which was ranked 2,904th.
